Imagine that you are a member in the first clan to arrive in North America. You have just crossed the land bridge connecting Alaska with Russia. The glacial conditions of the day have lowered the global sea level by 125 feet. This new land has many new large and threatening animals with whom you must learn to co-exist. |

As always food and shelter dominate your priorities. Fortunately for this clan both were close at hand. |

In addition to food and shelter many predators are trying to survive in this harsh landscape. This giant short-faced bear could take you or your kill. |

Before nightfall this nomadic clan must have shelter. Protection from the wind, cold and predators is paramount. |
