WA49 Tieton State more...

Parking for four airplanes is available on the south side of the field. Tie down cables are provided. When leaving your plane unattended, please allow space for others, as they will have to power in.

wa49_w_approach_240x.JPG (10000 bytes) This view is from the west, your approach and departure end. Your approach path will take you between the island on the right and the point on the left. As you depart, a climbing turn to the pilots right will allow a safe departure. Always communicate on 122.9.

If you have room in your plane for a couple of bikes, you and your partner can find may miles of lightly traveled roads to ride. Most have a gentle gradient and should be easy for every one. The road on the south side of the field is paved.

This is Clear Lake which feeds Rimrock Lake. According to the map there is a waterfall here. The bike ride to this point was 8.3 miles from the airplane. As this was a 28 degree October afternoon I elected to come back next summer for pictures, of course density altitude would prevent me from trying in the 150HP Warrior.
